Our Fees
We act on a no win, no fee basis. If we do not recover compensation for you, you pay us nothing.
What we charge if your claim succeeds
Our fee is a percentage of the compensation you receive. The percentage depends on how much you are awarded, and it is capped by the Solicitors Regulation Authority under the SRA Claims Management Fees Rules 2024.
| Compensation awarded | Our fee | Maximum fee |
|---|---|---|
| £1 – £1,499 | 30% | £420 |
| £1,500 – £9,999 | 28% | £2,500 |
| £10,000 – £24,999 | 25% | £5,000 |
| £25,000 – £49,999 | 20% | £7,500 |
| £50,000 or more | 15% | £10,000 |
You pay whichever is lower — the percentage, or the maximum fee for that band. VAT is charged in addition to our fee, at the prevailing rate, currently 20%.
Example. If you are awarded £5,000, our fee is 28% — £1,400 — plus VAT of £280, making £1,680 in total. You keep £3,320.
How our fee is paid
How you pay us depends on how the lender pays your compensation.
If the lender pays the compensation to us, we will send you a bill and pay you the balance once our fee and VAT have been deducted. We will always tell you the figures before we do this.
If the lender pays the compensation directly to you, which is common, our fee is still payable. We will send you an invoice for our fee and VAT, and you will need to pay it from the money you have received.
Either way, we will tell you what our fee will be as soon as the amount of your compensation is known, so that you can set that money aside.
If paying our invoice in one sum would be difficult, tell us — we can usually agree a payment plan.
What you pay if your claim does not succeed
Nothing. If we do not recover compensation for you, we make no charge. We do not charge a failure fee. We do not charge you if we close your file, and we do not charge you if you decide not to continue.
You can bring your claim yourself, free of charge
Most of the claims we handle can be taken to the Financial Ombudsman Service. You do not need a solicitor to do this. The Financial Ombudsman Service is free to use, and you can bring a complaint yourself, without representation.
You are entitled to do that instead of instructing us, and you should consider whether you wish to. Before you instruct us, we will tell you in writing if your claim is one you could bring yourself in this way.
You can find out more at financial-ombudsman.org.uk or by calling 0800 023 4567.
Before you instruct us
Before you enter into an agreement with us, we will give you in writing:
- what we will charge, and how it is calculated
- the fee cap that applies to your claim, and how it works
- confirmation that you can bring the claim yourself free of charge, where that applies
- details of anything that falls outside the capped fee
We will ask you to confirm that you have received this information.
